The starting point is the observation that cleaning tools such as dustpans and hand brushes are usually kept out of sight and are not part of table etiquette. At the same time, a sense of social unease arises between guest and host after a meal: help is desired, but rarely asked for or accepted.
»Table Ritual« deliberately brings the dustpan into the context of the dining table and designs it as an aesthetic object that integrates with the existing tableware. Its central placement makes it accessible to everyone and opens up a new form of interaction.
The act of tidying up thus becomes visible, shared and repeatable, and can, in the long term, establish itself as a ritual that strengthens community and redistributes responsibility.
