SBYD.SPACE awards Artist / Designer in Residence scholarships each year.


2025 #2
From 15 September 2025 to 15 December 2025, SBYD.SPACE is offering two “Artist / Designer in Residence” scholarships on the themes of “Textile” and “Tech” for Indian artists or designers. The programme is supported by the Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore and Museum Folkwang in Essen.



2025 #1
Supported by the Goethe-Institut Villa Kamogawa Kyoto and Museum Folkwang in Essen we are looking forward to hosting two Japanese Designers / Artists at SBYD.SPACE next year from 1 April to 30 June.
Yuri Nakai has been selected for our this year’s residency for the subject of “Repair” and Masatoshi Noguchi has been selected for the subject of “Food”.



2024
The residencies for 2024 were awarded to Robert Schnüll, Studio Lapatsch | Unger, and Lilli Malou Weinhold in the subject areas “Bio-based Materials” and “Technology and Sustainability”. The works created during the residency were presented at our “Spaces For Tomorrow” exhibition during Dutch Design Week 2024 in Eindhoven.
