SPACE FOR REPAIR

To mark the 20th anniversary of Zollverein Park, the »BOULEVARD OF DREAMS« invited visitors to an interactive festival full of art, sustainability and community with workshops, installations and performances. SBYD.SPACE was part of the programme and invited to take over the boulevard on Friday, 11 July 2025.

In addition to an exhibition on textile repair practices, which showed how diverse, creative and stylish repaired textiles can be – and how clothing can be worn and appreciated for longer through redesign – vapes were converted into torches at the red Tech Kiosk. There, participants discussed the value and impact of disposable products. With a kit and a soldering iron, disposable e-cigarettes could be transformed into rechargeable flashlights in the workshop.

In addition, zines on the topics of biomaterials, patch & care and vapes to flash were available to read and take away.
